Permanent Teaching Positions

The Ottawa Catholic School Board is a strong Catholic community committed to providing the best educational experience for our children where faith is central and celebrated each day. We currently operate 63 elementary schools, 2 intermediate schools, 15 high schools and 1 adult high school with a current enrolment of over 39,000 students.

Teachers wanting to apply for a permanent teaching position with the Ottawa Catholic School Board must apply online through Apply to Education's website. Applications sent directly to the Board Office will not be accepted.

  www.applytoeducation.ca

On the Apply to Education website, you will need to complete the application form and attach the following documents, which will become part of your on-line portfolio:

If selected for a permanent position, at the time of hire you will be required to provide a negative tuberculin test (obtained within the last 12 months) and a criminal reference check (vulnerable sector) obtained within the last 6 months.

Interviews to establish our Permanent Teaching Eligibility List take place in the Spring of each year. Candidates that have had a successful interview and that have received positive employment references will be placed on this eligibility list. Only candidates on this list can be considered for permanent teaching positions within our Board.

Applications posted to Apply to Education by March 12, 2010 will be considered for the interviews that will be held this Spring to establish our 2010-2011 Permanent Teaching Eligibility List. Only candidates that have provided a complete portfolio application that includes all of the documents listed above will be considered.

Please note, candidates interested in being considered for daily supply teaching or long-term occasional teaching assignments must apply separately for our Occasional Teaching List. To request an Occasional Teaching Application Package, please phone 613-224-2222 ext 2414 or e-mail Ann.Etherington@ottawacatholicschools.ca.

Thank you for your interest in a permanent teaching position with the Ottawa Catholic School Board.
