Principal Message

The children of Guardian Angels are surrounded by love and learning as the teaching staff work together with the Church and home to strive for excellence! We will continue to work through our challenges and celebrate our successes.
Our school community is enriched on a daily basis by our Catholic faith. We welcome Father Ross Finlan to our school community and Holy Spirit Parish.  Father Ross plays a vital role in our school community through masses and frequent visits in our classes, our playground and our hallways. The wonderful connection with God, made through the sacraments, is enriched through the weekly Sunday Mass. Children form their value system by observing excellent modeling by the important adults in their lives.
The student agenda provides vital information about Guardian Angels School policies, procedures and important dates to remember. It is a key link that keeps families informed of homework, special projects and the many events occurring each month at Guardian Angels. Please support our teachers by checking your child's agenda on a nightly basis to enhance the adaptation of lifelong organizational skills.
Our school benefits from your work as a volunteer and from your participation on our Catholic School Council. Great things have been accomplished (and purchased) through the teamwork provided last year. We look forward to another "action packed" school year and new projects embarked upon together. Please consider joining us for the monthly meetings! Call me anytime you have a question or require information about our school. I value your input!

Spiritual Theme for 2009-2010

We Care for God's Creation continues to be our board theme for the 2009-2010 school year.  Keeping with the Gospel value of Stewardship of Creation, the new theme includes the elements of sacredness of creation, the value of human life, wellness, care for the environment, and global awareness.
This theme also forms a bridge to last year’s theme - Who is My Neighbour? Stewardship for Creation will have a Justice dimension. Jesus calls us to open our lives to all who need our love and care across the globe.   Because 'We Care for God's Creation' we will be encouraging our school community to participate in litterless lunches, and our school newsletter will be posted on our website.

We look forward to a terrific year at Guardian Angels!

Schools on the Move

The Schools on the Move initiative, now in its third year, highlights an impressive group of now over 100 schools - Guardian Angels is one.  Guardian Angels has made substantial progress in raising student achievement and have sustained this progress over several years.  "Schools learning with and from other schools" is the core idea - networking is a powerful way to ensure that successful practice spreads from school to school across the province.
