CELEBRATING MARCH BREAK 2010
This Sunday is the fourth Sunday of Lent in the Catholic calendar. In the Sunday reading, Luke tells the story of the parable of the Prodigal Son. As Catholic educators we refer to this story on many occasions during the course of the school year as it highlights the need of a second chance in life. We all deserve a second chance since we may not always make the right choice and these inappropriate decisions will translate into unfortunate mistakes. This is a chance to start over. An opportunity to right a wrong. A chance to make a difference. Of course, many times second chances are not fair or just. But, when we receive our personal second chances, we are certainly grateful that we were able to learn from our mistake.
During this upcoming well-deserved March Break, I certainly hope that we are able to reflect on some of the decisions that were made and that we may not necessarily be proud of. Let us right a wrong and come back to school on Monday, March 22, 2010 ready to tackle the third trimester of the school year. We wish our El Salvador group a wonderful opportunity as they travel south on Monday and will experience social justice in a foreign land. Students and staff will return to Trinity with many stories to share. We know that they will make a difference as they will link with our partnered school, El Salvador, Escuela San Jose Las Flores, and bring them wonderful gifts and financial assistance. Let's all enjoy this holiday and be grateful for this opportunity to re-energize ourselves.
